Confit Pots were used to store meats such as Duck, Goose & Pork. The vessels were used to preserve the meat without the need for refrigeration. These fully white glazed confit pots originate from the Albigeois region in the South of France & were used in a similar way as half glazed pots except they were not buried in earth, they were simple stored in a cool larder.
